Is there a cap on registration?
There is no cap on the number of runners entered in Amica Marathon and United HealthCare Half
Marathon. There is a limit of 85 teams in the marathon relay. [Back to Top]
I am no longer able to compete in the race. Can I receive a refund?
There are no refunds. You cannot transfer your registration to another person.[Back to Top]
Where and when is packet pickup?
Runners can pick up their race packets on Friday, Oct. 15, 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. And Saturday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Newport and on Sunday, Oct. 17, 6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. at Easton's Beach. [Back to Top]
I am not able to make it to packet pick up. What do I do?
If you cannot make it to packet pick up, someone else can pick up your race packet at Registration,
located at the Hyatt Regency Newport. We will keep a list of those who have picked up for other

Is there parking available?
Free parking is available at Newport Grand, 150 Admiral Kalbfus Rd. Newport, R.I. 02840. There will

Do I need to take the shuttle to the starting line?

Will timing chips be used?

Is the Amica Marathon a Boston Marathon qualifier?

I would like to switch races. Can I do that?
Yes. Changes can be made up to 10 days prior to the race (Wednesday, Oct 6). There is no refund
for Amica Marathon participants who switch to the UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon. Runner who
change from UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon to the Amica Marathon must pay the difference, plus
an additional $10. You must send your request via email to [help@amicamarathon.com] In your
request please provide your information and what race you registered for and the race you want to

Are there time limits for the Amica Marathon and UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon?
Yes. The time limit for the Amica Marathon is six (6) hours. The time limit for the UnitedHealthcare
Half Marathon is three and a half (3.5) hours. [Back to Top]
Where are the best places to watch the race?
The best places to watch the race are at the race start and finish at Brenton Point, Sachuest Beach, and Easton's Beach. [Back to Top]
Are the races walker friendly?
The half marathon is walker friendly as there is a 3.5 hour time limit. The marathon has a 6 hour time
limit and then the course will close. [Back to Top]
Are there any discounts at hotels for participants?
Yes. Various hotels in the area are providing a discount rate for participants. The Host Hotel, Hyatt Regency Newport, has already sold out. Visit [Travel] for more information on which hotels are offering a discounted rate. [Back to Top]
Are iPod’s and other music devices allowed?
Yes, per 2010 USATF rules headphones are allowed on course. [Back to Top]
Can I push a stroller?
No. USATF rules/insurance does not cover strollers on the course. Thus, strollers are not permitted. [Back to Top]
Is there a place to leave my belongings at the start?
Yes. There will be a gear bag check-in at the start, finish area. [Back to Top]
Where are the aid stations and what will they be providing?
The aid stations will be roughly every two (2) miles starting at mile two (2). All aid stations will provide water. The aid stations at mile 6, 8.5, 13.1, 15, 17.5, 19.5, 21.5 and 24 will provide Gatorade. Food will be provided at miles 13.1, 17.5, 21.5 and 24. Food will consist of bananas, candy and GU. There will also be athlete food, beverage and a beer garden at the finish line. Bathrooms will be available at all the aid stations.

Are the miles marked?
Yes. Every mile will be marked by an a-frame sign and there will be timing clocks every five (5)
