The 2013 UnitedHealthCare Marathon will be held on Sunday October 13 in Newport, Rhode Island. Race weekend features the UnitedHealthCare Marathon and UnitedHealthcare Newport Half Marathon on Sunday and the UnitedHealthCare 5k on Saturday, October 12.
The UnitedHealthCare Marathon and UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon will start at 8:00 AM on Sunday at Easton's Beach. The UnitedHealthCare 5k will start at 7:30 AM on Saturday at Brenton Point.
The USATF certified races take advantage of Newport and Middletown's rich history and beautiful oceanside scenery, providing some of the most breathtaking runs in the country. TheUnitedHealthCare Marathon is honored to host the UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon, voted the best half marathon in the Northeast by Competitor magazine in 2011!
The UnitedHealthCare Marathon serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The award winning UnitedHealthcare Newport Half is the final stop of the Inaugural UnitedHealthcare Triple Crown of Running, a three stop series of Rhode Island Half Marathons. The Triple Crown offers the opportunity to run Providence, Jamestown and Newport. Register for the final two stops in Jamestown and Newport for just $150 and the chance to be crowned the 'Half Marathon Champion of Rhode Island' along with other great prizes. Learn More...

Time Limits
The UnitedHealthCare Marathon course will be secured for six hours and the UnitedHealthcare Half Marathon will be secured for three and a half hours. Walkers are welcome for both races but after the time limits the course will be open to traffic and aid stations will be closed.
Top three Open Men/Women:
All finishers of the UnitedHealthCare Marathon and UnitedHealthcare Newport Half Marathon will receive a medal.
Sunday
There will be complimentary parking and shuttles for all participants. In order to accomodate a large number of runners, parking will be broken down into two seperate lots by event. Participants will receive lot specific directions when they pick up their race packet based on what race they are in.
All participants MUST park at their designated lots and then take a shuttle to the start line. Full Marathon participants must park at the lot at Second Beach, 475 Sachuest Point Rd, Middletown, RI. Half Marathon participants must park at the lots at the Industrial park on 31 John Clarke Rd, Middletown, RI.

Race-day registration and packet pick-up will be held at the race start in the Easton's Beach Rotunda. Please park and take the shuttles and allow yourself PLENTY OF TIME to park, take the shuttle and pick up your race bib and timing chip. [Map]
There will be an optional gear bag check for all participants wishing to shed layers or leave a bag at the race start at the Easton's Beach Rotunda. The area will be secured throughout race day. Please allow yourself plenty of time to park, take the shuttle and check your bags as there will inevitably be a line on race morning and following the race.
Photos will be available following the event at FinisherPix.com. FinisherPix will be taking individual photos of all participants at multiple locations on the course. Simply select the UnitedHealthCare Marathon from the drop-down menu, then enter your name or bib number to find your photos. If your bib number was not visible your photos may be in the lost-and-found category. In addition to FinisherPix, event photos from RIAerial and George Ross will be available on theUnitedHealthCare Marathon Facebook page.
